KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- South Korea eked out a narrow 29-24 win over Oman in a tightly-contested Asian handball championship encounter on Sunday, thanks largely to the heroics of their talisman Kim Taekwanas.
While Oman pushed hard to turn the game around, the experience of the South Koreans proved too overwhelming, as man of the match, Taekwans, led his side to a hard-fought victory.
In earlier group two action, Iraq registered a similar narrow win over Jordan with a scoreline of 26-21, while China and Bahrain face off later on Sunday to round out the day. (end) hms.nam
