ISLAMABAD, Jan 17 (KUNA) -At least 24 people were killed and over 20 others were injured in two separate accidents on Saturday in Pakistan's eastern Punjab and southwestern Balochistan provinces, said authorities.
According to Punjab Rescue 1122 officials, at least 14 people, including six children, were killed while nine others were injured on Saturday when a truck carrying cargo and passengers fell into a canal from the Galapur Bangla bridge due to fog.
The truck was travelling from Islamabad to Faisalabad with 23 people on board for a funeral when the unfortunate incident took place.
In another accident, 10 people died and over a dozen were injured when a speeding passenger coach overturned on the Makran Coastal Highway at Hudd Goth in Balochistan province.
The Edhi rescue service confirmed that 10 people including a girl were killed in the coach accident that was heading to Jiwani from Karachi city. (end)
