WASHINGTON, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- U.S. President Donald Trump announced the formation of a "Board of Peace" for the Gaza Strip, just as he had promised early 2026.
"It is my Great Honor to announce that the Board of Peace has been formed," Trump wrote on Truth Social late Thursday.
"The Members of the Board will be announced shortly, but I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place," Trump added.
Meanwhile, US Envoy for Middle East Steve Witkoff announced on Wednesday the launching of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Commenting on this, Trympo wrote on Truth Social, "As Steve Witkoff announced, we have OFFICIALLY entered the next phase of Gaza's 20-Point Peace Plan!" (end) amm.mt
