NEW DELHI, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait participated in the National Conference on Strategic Trade Controls (NCSTC) 2026 in the Indian capital New Delhi on Thursday, which comes of great importance as it occurs amidst massive economic and trade transformations across the world.
In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait's Ambassador to India Meshal Al-Shemali said that the current global situation requires focusing on creating an improved and transparent business environment and finding the best ways to diversify economic sectors and sources of income.
Al-Shemali added that the high-level attendees reflect the importance that participating countries from different continents of the world attach to the desire to exchange ideas and information on local and international trade controls, combating price manipulation and commercial fraud, combating money laundering and securing global supply chains.
The conference is a platform to discuss challenges affecting future policies being considered by countries towards trade control strategies.
NCSTC is organized by the Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade in cooperation with the Ministry of External Affairs and several other government agencies at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in New Delhi.
The conference focuses on key sectors including security and defense, space, chemicals, biotechnology, electronics, information technology, commercial applications, emerging technologies and compliance, with a particular focus on academia and scientific research.
The national conference featured thematic sessions with the participation of prominent officials from the Indian government, international organizations, and experts specializing in the relevant sectors from around the world. (end)
