KUWAIT, Jan 11 (KUNA) -- The "Al-Salhiya Fine Arts Forum" kicked off Sunday in Kuwait, organized in cooperation between the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Arab Media Forum, and the Al-Salhiya Complex. The event features 23 Kuwaiti artists displaying 51 paintings and artworks and will continue until January 17.
In a statement to KUNA, Dr. Mohammad Al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, said that the forum aims to support the Kuwaiti visual arts movement and provide local artists with an opportunity to showcase their works in public spaces accessible to a wider audience.
Al-Jassar noted that the exhibition includes more than 50 paintings and ceramic pieces representing diverse artistic schools and styles. He said the level of participating works reflects the global presence of Kuwaiti fine arts while highlighting the evolution and variety of its creative expressions.
He added that holding art exhibitions in commercial complexes helps connect Kuwaiti artists with the public, especially those without direct access to the arts. Al-Jassar emphasized that such cultural initiatives can open new horizons for audiences to engage with fine arts, a goal that encourages the council to continue supporting public art events.
The forum is part of a broader effort to promote cultural participation and strengthen the visibility of Kuwait's artistic talent both locally and internationally. (end) mdm.aa
