KUWAIT, Jan 9 (KUNA) -- Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi opened on Friday the second international Dasman diabetes conference, as part of the ministry's commitment to developing healthcare and boosting prevention.
In his augural speech, Al-Awadhi said that holding this session came to proceed with the noticeable success made during the first session, as an international forum which contributes to developing inclusive understanding of patients and boosting means of prevention.
This year's conference offers an integrated scientific program, which shows advanced awareness of the size of current challenges, he added.
The session discusses advanced treatment of diabetes, specialized workshops and lectures focusing on global burdens of disease and the importance of early detection as well as the role of modern techniques including AI and smart medicine, he noted.
The session further focuses on some points, topped with dealing with the complications of diabetes, including diabetic feet, one of the most serious challenges, he stated.
The minister also touched upon the national vision on building a more effective and sustainable health system, amid new research papers mainly with the AI development. (end)
