JEDDAH, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli occupation crimes including the shelling of a school sheltering displaced civilians east of Gaza late Friday, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the OIC renewed its call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities and put an end to the continued Israeli occupation crimes and violations.
It also urged the establishment of a comprehensive permanent ceasefire, the unhindered delivery of essential humanitarian aid, and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.
The OIC also emphasized the need to activate international criminal justice mechanisms to investigate and hold accountable all Israeli occupation officials involved in committing these heinous crimes, ensuring that they do not evade punishment. (end) fn.sar
