KUWAIT, Dec 20 (KUNA) -- Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi on Saturday congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the second anniversary of taking the helm of power, wishing him good health and success in promoting Kuwait further.
In a press statement, minister Al-Roumi said the precious occasion fell while the dear homeland is witnessing political and security stability, pursuing the march of development steadily under the sagacious leadership that has set, since the first day, a clear approach based on the sovereignty of law, cementing institutional reforms and responsible work.
The oil sector, the prime basis of the national economy, has been looked after and supported by His Highness the Amir, and such backing led to overhauling the operating and technical capacities, ensuring resources sustainability, he pointed out.
His Highness the Amir's support for the oil sector has also contributed to bolstering Kuwait's stature as a credible and responsible source of energy at the regional and international levels, thus affirming its pivotal role in backing up stability of the international energy markets, he added.
The accumulating accomplishments in various institutions mirrored the deep vision of the leadership that forsees the future and believes in the Kuwaiti citizen as a basic partner in construction and development, minister Al-Roumi said.
Personnel in the oil sector have been fulfilling their duties with a high patriotic spirit, inspired by directions of the political leadership, he said. They have renewed the pledge to work diligently to preserve the homeland assets and enhance its economic potentials, contributing effectively to attaining goals of sustainable development for the state, the minister continued.
