CAIRO, Dec 18 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi on Thursday affirmed his nation's full support for Sudan's unity and security and territorial sanctity.
President Al-Sisi expressed Egypt's strong stance for Sudan during a meeting with the visiting President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, General Abdulfattah Al-Burhan, said spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shennawi in a statement.
The two leaders agreed on the necessity of intensifying regional and international efforts to restore peace and stability in Sudan and supporting the Sudanese people who have been suffering from harsh humanitarian circumstances, demanding a halt of the crimes against the people and bringing those responsible to justice.
They touched on issues in the Nile Basin and the Horn of Africa, affirming their harmonious views on issues related to the national security and keenness on joint action to safeguard water security, ambassador Al-Shennawi added.
President Al-Sisi and Gneral Al-Burhan rejected unilateral measures in the Blue Nile Basin and called for abiding by the rules of the international law to protect water security, he said
The Egyptian president, earlier today, received the Sudanese leader before a broad meeting that grouped officials from the two sides. (pickup previous)
