KUWAIT, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Mohammed Al-Ahmad Kuwait Naval Base has hosted ships and boats of GCC states' navies in preparation for the drill, "ittihad 2025," due on December 15.
The Kuwait Army chairmanship of staff said in a statement on Thursday that the planned exercise would be held in line with the joint military action among the GCC states and the strategy to defend their territorial sea waters.
It quoted Commander of the Kuwait Naval Force Rear Admiral Saif Al-Hamlan as welcoming the participating GCC forces, noting that the drill was designed to uplift the common efficiency in a "realistic training environment." Rear Admiral Al-Hamlan has added that participation of the GCC countries' naval forces in this drill reflects the GCC states' joint objectives and destiny, brings into the limelight the high professionalism of the naval forces and ability of joint action for bolstering security and stability of the Arabian Gulf.
The mock combat will feature employment of rocket launchers, artilley batteries, joint operations and associated athletic activities. (end) hmd.rk
