ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (KUNA) -- Islamabad and Cairo on Monday discussed bilateral relations with a particular focus on defense and security cooperation during a meeting between visiting Egyptian Foreign Minister Bader Abdulaty and Pakistanآ’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in eastern Rawalpindi city.
According to Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two officials reviewed bilateral relations, with a particular focus on defense and security cooperation, military-to-military contacts, training collaborations, and regional peace and stability.
"The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to strengthen coordination and deepen the long-standing ties in defense and broader strategic domains," said ISPR.
The visiting Foreign Minister expressed Egypt's continued interest in expanding cooperation with Pakistan across all spheres.
Both sides underscored the importance of sustained high-level exchanges to address emerging challenges, especially in light of evolving regional security dynamics, the release added.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister arrived earlier on Sunday in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
