KUWAIT, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait University Director Dr. Dina Al-Mailam said on Thursday that the university will continue its national role as a leading institution, adding that its longstanding journey has been a cornerstone in preparing graduates that supported the country's progress.
In a statement marking the 59th anniversary of the university's establishment, Dr. Al-Mailam stated the Kuwait University - founded in 1966-has consistently contributed to nation-building by promoting education, scholarship, and knowledge.
Over the decades, she noted, the university has continued to develop its academic programs to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the labor market, enhance the quality of its graduates and train them with competitive skills that meet the real needs of future jobs, while expanding cooperation with national and international institutions.
She highlighted the university's status as a leading research institution by boosting scientific research through advanced laboratories, facilities and specialized centers that allow researchers to pursue innovative solutions to various challenges.
Scientific research, she stressed, is a strategic commitment that contributes to achieving national priorities and future directions, while expanding partnerships locally and globally to strengthen the university's role in developing human capital.
Dr. Al-Mailam expressed pride in the strong support and patronage the university receives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
She reaffirmed that this support has had a significant impact in enabling the university to advance academically, expand research efforts and enhance community service.
She reiterated Kuwait University's ongoing commitment to its national mission and its role in advancing higher education and preparing generation capable of supporting the country's long-term aspirations. (end)
