CAIRO, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- The Council of Arab Information Ministers on Wednesday reiterated unwavering support for and solidarity with the Palestinian cause with all its dimensions, and adopted fresh media initiatives.
This came during the wrapping-up of the council's meeting held in Cairo under the chairmanship of Syria, urging Arab mass media to highlight Israeli occupation violations of Gaza ceasefire and surging breaches in the West Bank.
They also condemned Israeli occupying forces for targeting Palestinian journalists in a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
Regarding the Arab media code of ethics, the council underlined that it is essential to promote this code in line with amendments adopted in April 2025, calling for abiding by its contents aiming at bolstering professionalism and objectivity and decrying discourse of bias and hatred.
The council also asked a team of media experts to set out a comprehensive strategy and time able to put in place the pan-Arab counterterrorism strategy, in collaboration with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS).
Furthermore, Rabat was handpicked the capital of Arab media for 2026, Doha for 2027 and Damascus for 2028.
Kuwaiti Minister of Information, Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi led Kuwait's delegation during the council's 55th session. (end)
