CAIRO, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Television and Kuwait's Ministry of Information's Development Sector won the Arab League's Media Excellence Award for the best works nominated from Arab countries in the audio-visual and print media fields.
This took place during the 2025 Media Excellence Award ceremony, themed "Arab Youth and New Media," at the conclusion of the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
The winners were honored by the award's patron Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture and State Minister for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmad Abul-Gheit, and Syrian Information Minister Hamza Al-Mustafa, who chaired the current session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
Kuwait Television won the award for best television report, titled "Youth's Relationship with Social Media," while Iraq Television won the award for best documentary film on digital youth.
In the radio category, Algerian Radio won the award for best radio report on youth, social media, and artificial intelligence, and Egypt's Youth and Sports Radio won the award for best radio awareness report for youth.
In the field of print journalism, Emirati journalist Hazza Abu Al-Raisi won the award for best investigative report titled "Arab Youth and New Media," while the Jordanian newspaper Ad-Dustour won for best opinion column on the impact of hate speech on youth.
In the field of digital media, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) won for best photograph, taken by Faisal Al-Wahima, and for best digital report on youth media sources, taken by Bandari Habram, while Amal Nawfal from Palestine won for best digital video.
The Ministerial Council also honored Ibrahim Matqi, the Director of Development and Follow-up at Kuwait's Ministry of Information, in recognition of his significant contributions to the Arab media landscape.
Additionally, the Council honored Editor-in-Chief of the Saudi newspaper Al-Jazirah, Minister Ahmad Assaf who oversees Palestinian media, and Ali Saleh Al-Sada Director of Qatar TV. (end) mm.res
