CAIRO, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information, Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi called on Wednesday for unified efforts and stronger partnerships to develop a responsible Arab media discourse capable of keeping pace with rapid changes.
This came during his speech at the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
Minister Al-Mutairi said the meeting is taking place amid exceptional, rapidly changing regional challenges, stressing the need for a clear strategic vision grounded in truth and credibility to promote stability and development in Arab countries.
He condemned the grave violations by Israeli occupation forces in the Palestinian territories, especially Gaza.
Minister Al-Mutairi said Kuwait strongly denounces the ongoing attacks, which ignore regional and international efforts for a ceasefire and stability, including the latest UN Resolution 2803 (2025).
He reiterated Kuwait's firm support for the Palestinian people, their legitimate rights, and the establishment of an independent state along the June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He said the session's agenda includes key issues, particularly the Arab media strategy for media and information literacy.
He explained that the strategy aims to build an informed generation able to critically engage with media content, reinforce identity, and support development.
Minister Al-Mutairi conveyed to the ministers of information the greetings of Kuwait's wise political leadership and their wishes for the success of the meeting. (end)
