AMMAN, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- Jordanian security authorities announced, Wednesday, that three security personnel were injured and two wanted brothers, associated with a "takfiri ideology," were killed in "major investigative cases." The Jordanian Public Security Directorate said in a press statement that a special security force raided a location on Tuesday, in the Ramtha District, where two wanted brothers were hiding due to their involvement in "important investigative cases" related to takfiri ideology.
It explained that as soon as the security force arrived at the location, the two suspects opened heavy fire on them, resulting in the injury of three members of the raiding force, who were then transferred to the hospital for treatment.
The Directorate confirmed that rules of engagement were followed and two unlawful suspects were killed after barricading themselves inside location, where they used their mother as a human shield to deter targeting by security forces.
The force safely removed the mother without harm, then searched the site where the suspects hid, recovering multiple firearms and ammunition, as authorities emphasized ongoing security operations and commitment to public safety across northern region. (end) amn.ahm
