KUWAIT, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday it has detained a citizen affiliated with banned group accused of targeting the country's security.
The ministry added in a statement that the arrest came as part of ongoing efforts by the ministry to safeguard national security and maintain stability, noting that State Security tracked and apprehended the suspect following detailed investigations.
The investigation showed that the suspect had received instructions from leaders of the group to build explosive and plan attacks on places of worship, the statement revealed.
The suspect also attempted to recruit minors by entering online gaming platforms to spread extremist ideology and attract them to terrorist organizations.
The ministry stressed that it will combat anyone who attempts to risk the country's security or threaten public safety, reaffirming that justice will reach anyone who seeks to destabilize Kuwait.
