KUWAIT, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Khaled Al-Mughamis, affirmed Wednesday, the Society's keenness to strengthen coordination and integration with charitable and humanitarian institutions within the country.
Al-Mughamis told KUNA, following his reception of a delegation from the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) headed by the Deputy Director-General for Projects, Ibrahim Al-Bader, that the IICO is an active partner in humanitarian work, noting that Kuwaiti charities and foundations work with one spirit to reinforce Kuwait's position as a leading nation in generosity and giving.
For his part, the Deputy Director-General for Projects at the IICO Ibrahim Al-Bader, said in a similar statement to KUNA that the visit comes within the framework of the desire to strengthen cooperation with the KRCS and to learn about its humanitarian activities and the latest developments in its projects.
He added that the meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the Organization's programs and initiatives and to discuss shared areas that can be developed, especially after reviewing the Red Crescent's projects in Jordan and other countries, stressing the Organization's commitment to building bridges of cooperation with the Society within a unified vision that serves those in need.
Al-Bader noted that the IICO looks forward to expanding coordination with the KRCS in relief efforts and humanitarian projects, expressing its interest in contributing to the training and qualification of its staff through the Red Crescent's programs in humanitarian work and first aid. (end)
