ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- At least 15 militants were killed in two separate engagements in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, said the military on Tuesday.
According to a press release by Pakistan military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on reported presence of militants, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in the general area Kulachi of Dera Ismail Khan District in KPK.
In another operation conducted in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan tribal district, security forces successfully neutralized five more militants, confirmed ISPR.
Earlier last week, Pakistan's security forces killed 20 militants in two separate engagements in KPK's tribal districts.
The security operations come at a time when Pakistan is witnessing a rise in terror attacks, especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end) sbk.gta
