KUWAIT, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, inaugurated on Thursday the "KLand" tourism and entertainment project, which is being held in cooperation between the Touristic Enterprises Company, Zain, Kuwait International Bank, and SHeeeL Company.
In a statement to reporters following the opening, Minister Al-Mutairi said that this project is open to all age groups, as it offers comprehensive services. He expressed optimism that each year will be better than the one before it, thanks to the accumulation of experience and institutional memory, which will help achieve success and the desired goals.
He noted that through the "Visit Kuwait" platform, one could obtain information about events, tourist sites, and the services the platform provides.
The minister added that events and festivals will continue extensively through partnerships with the private sector and civil society, while maintaining high quality and organization worthy of Kuwait. He emphasized that the "Visit Kuwait" platform team is keen to hold focused meetings for any event presented by a private company, initiative, or government body, paying close attention to details to ensure quality standards are met before launching events on the platform.
Minister Al-Mutairi stated, "We have great capabilities to face the challenges ahead, and through partnerships with government and private entities, we will contribute to developing ongoing projects." He confirmed that Kuwait seeks to attract international events, such as the World Padel Championship and the French Super Cup, which will be held in Kuwait.
He also mentioned that major agreements are being signed with leading companies in various sectors, adding, "Our role is to enhance tourism standards, benefit from internationally approved World Tourism Organization criteria, and apply them to everything related to the tourism sector." Minister Al-Mutairi reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting and encouraging local and international companies, seeking to benefit from their expertise and localize their successful models in Kuwait through partnerships with the private sector and government institutions.
The KLand Project includes an open area for cafes, restaurants, and shops with free entry, featuring several national youth brands as well as seaside seating areas with a capacity of 172 people.
The project also features a games zone with all-inclusive tickets covering all rides over an area of 2,000 square meters, along with an outdoor activity area, a VIP lounge, and participation by Kuwaiti youth projects, reflecting the active role of the private sector in supporting national initiatives.
