By Salem Al-Methen ABU DHABI, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim, Chairman of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), affirmed on Tuesday, that Kuwait's participation in the Interpol Global Conference on Anti-Corruption and Asset Recovery held in the United Arab Emirates underscores Kuwait's firm commitment to international collective action to combat corruption and promote integrity and transparency systems.
Speaking to KUNA at the opening of the conference, Al-Ibrahim said that Nazaha's participation in this global event reflects Kuwait's keenness to contribute to shaping international directions in the fight against corruption.
He added that the conference is one of the most prominent gatherings bringing together law enforcement agencies, oversight bodies, and financial intelligence units from around the world.
Regarding the importance of international cooperation, he stated that Nazaha attaches special importance to building sustainable cooperation networks with international and regional organizations.
He explained that such cooperation aims to exchange expertise and best practices, develop the capacities of national personnel, and enhance the exchange of information to support joint efforts in curbing corruption and tracing illicit proceeds.
As for the benefits Kuwait will gain from this participation, Al-Ibrahim pointed out that the conference provides an important opportunity to learn about the latest global mechanisms for asset recovery and anti-money laundering, which will help support national legislation and advance procedures for international judicial cooperation.
