KUWAIT, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Khalid Al-Maqamis affirmed Monday the society's commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with regional and international humanitarian institutions to enhance relief efforts and support those in need during crises and disasters.
Speaking to KUNA after meeting a delegation from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) led by Khalil Al-Zaabi, the Director of Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), an organization affiliated with the (IsDB).
Al-Maqamis said KRCS welcomes initiatives aimed at improving relief tools and expanding assistance to reach the most vulnerable, particularly in Islamic countries.
He stressed that such cooperative initiatives contribute to launching sustainable projects that benefit affected communities while keeping pace with the evolving concept of humanitarian work based on partnership and integration.
For his part, Al-Zaabi said the visit aimed to introduce the Global Waqf Refugee Fund (GIFR) initiative launched by the IsDB in collaboration with regional and international partners to support and empower refugees in Islamic countries through various development projects.
He added that the delegation outlined the initiative's objectives and implementation mechanisms, calling on Kuwaiti humanitarian organizations to explore opportunities for cooperation and contribution to advancing sustainable humanitarian efforts. (end) slm.sar
