BEIJING, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- China suspended on Monday port-related fees on US-flagged vessels and delayed for one year a probe into the impact of US sanctions on China's shipping, shipbuilding and related supply chains.
China Central Television (CCTV) quoted the Ministry of Transport as saying the decision came in implementation of understandings reached between China and the US during their trade talks held in Kuala Lumpur last month.
The Ministry said it will suspend enforcing October Notices No. 54 and 55 of 2025, which would have imposed special port fees on US vessels and launched an inquiry into the effects of US Section No. 301 measures on China's maritime sector.
China had planned to charge US-owned, US-operated, or US-registered vessels 400 yuan (USD 56) per ton at ports through April 17, 2026, gradually rising to 1,120 yuan (USD 156) per ton by April 17, 2028, mirroring Washington's tariff moves. (end) slg.ahm
