CAIRO, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- The Arab League on Sunday called on Arab and international mass media to throw much weight behind Palestinian media, which has been seriously damaged by the Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip.
This came in a statement made by the Arab League's Assistant Secretary General for Media and Communications Ambassador Ahmad Khatabi during a plenary session on Gaza as part of the third edition of Egypt's Media Forum 2025.
Khatabi underlined the significance of providing necessary backing for Palestinian media that has been seriously affected by the Israeli occupation's "unequal war" on the Palestinian territory, noting that many journalists and media staff were killed during the aggression.
He recalled the recent decision of the Council of Arab Information Ministers to consider May 11 every year as a day of international solidarity with Palestinian media.
He added that pan-Arab coordination at all levels, especially regional parties, had contributed to thwarting the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
Egypt's Media Forum 2025 kicked off in Cairo on Saturday, drawing representatives from Egyptian, Arab and international media organizations to look into the future of media-making amid technological and artificial intelligence advancements. (end)
