BAGHDAD, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation Knesset's approval of two draft laws aimed at imposing sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and illegal settlements.
A statement by the ministry on Friday condemned the move as a blatant violation of international law and UN resolutions, saying it violates Palestinian rights, undermines stability, and threatens regional security.
The ministry reaffirmed Iraq's firm support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians' right to self-determination and an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry urged the international community to uphold its legal and humanitarian responsibilities, oppose the occupying authorities' aggression and expansionist policies, and condemn their ongoing violations against the Palestinian people. (end) ahh.ao
