VIENNA, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon Sunday voiced concern over growing reports about Gaza ceasefire violations, while calling for supporting the Palestinian Authority as a basic step towards just and lasting peace based on the bi-state approach.
"We express deep concern over attempts to violate the ceasefire in Gaza. Among reports are those of violence and extrajudicial executions in Gaza since the ceasefire, of arms smuggling, as well as delays in the opening of crossings & an escalation after attacks near Rafah. Such acts endanger civilians, undermine the truce, and violate international law," she said on her X account.
"Slovenia recalls the New York Declaration and Peace Plan," she said, calling for opening the remaining crossings to Gaza for patients and aid, in particular the Rafah crossing.
The Slovenian foreign minister reiterated her country's commitment to working with the EU and regional partners to protect civilians, allow full humanitarian access and support a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
"It is of vital importance to strengthen the Palestinian Authority at this critical moment," she pointed out. (end)
