RIYADH, Oct 17 (KUNA) - President of the Asian Football Federation (AFC) stated on Friday that the federation has implemented several reforms in the last year to strengthen competition sand lay the foundation for a brighter future for Asian football.
"This year, I want to reaffirm our commitment to progressive reforms," Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa added in the opening speech of the Riyadh-hosted AFC Member Associations and Regional Associations Presidents' and General Secretaries' Conference 2025.
Hosted by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), the Conference takes place following a transformational 2024/25 season that ushered in a brand-new era for Asian football.
"The AFC will continue to work tirelessly to achieve our shared objectives, but we know this can only happen when we put our Member Associations and Regional Associations at the heart of everything we do."
"That is why this annual Conference is so important. It is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge, tools and connections to reach new levels of excellence."
As Asian football continues to chart a new path forward, the event aims to deliver precise insights, foster innovation, and strengthen unity across the Continent, further underlining the AFC's commitment to becoming the world's leading Confederation. (end)
