ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- A suicide bomber and two other terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire during an attack in Pakistanآ’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, said police.
According to initial police reports, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate of the Ratta Kulachi Police Training Centre in Dera Ismail Khan district of KPK, triggering a massive explosion that shook nearby residential areas.
A senior police official of DI Khan, PRO Yaqoob Khan in a statement to media confirmed that a suicide bomber and two terrorists have been killed so far and the operation is ongoing. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and a large contingent of police forces was dispatched to the training center to respond to the situation.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan military confirmed the killing of 30 terrorists in a series of operations against the militants involved in killings of soldiers of the Pakistan army recently in KPK. The attack comes days after at least 11 soldiers, including two officers, embraced martyrdom while 19 terrorists were killed in a security operation in a tribal district of KPK. (end) sbk.rk
