BEIRUT, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The Union of Arab Banks (UAB) on Thursday listed eight Kuwaiti banks among the top 100 Arab banks by assets for 2024.
Citing an analytical study conducted by the UAB, the union's Secretary-General Wissam Fattouh said in a statement that the ranking of Kuwaiti banks come as follows: National Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait Finance House, Burgan Bank, Gulf Bank, Ahli United Bank, Warba Bank, Commercial Bank of Kuwait and Kuwait International Bank.
He elaborated that the eight Kuwaiti banks' total assets hit approximately USD 367.7 billion, with the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) ranked first locally, eighth in the Arab ranking and 179th globally by assets.
Fattouh added that the Kuwait Finance House (KFH) came second locally, 10th in the Arab ranking and 198th globally, followed by Burgan Bank in third, 40th and 571st local, Arab and global rankings respectively.
The UAB's chief noted that the top 100 Arab banks' assets amounted to roughly USD 4.5 trillion in late 2024. (end) ayb.mt
