MOSCOW, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump's plan for peace in Gaza is the "best option" in terms of Arab acceptability and "non-rejection" by the Israeli occupation.
Speaking in a press release, Lavrov said his country is closely pursuing the developments of Palestine's file in light of relevant regional and international movement.
On Syria, Lavrov said Moscow is continuing backing its Syrian partners, expressing readiness to cooperate with other countries, which have interests with Syria to enhance regional stability and prevent the deterioration of humanitarian conditions.
If the ongoing movement of Kurds for autonomous rule in Syria succeeds, it may ignite Kurdish issue in other countries, he said.
He warned that such movements could pose serious risks to regional security, and territorial integrity of several countries in the region.
However, Lavrov showed his country's resentment as some Western countries are trying to tighten sanctions against Iran, considering this running counter to international efforts for the resumption of talks. (end)
