NEW DELHI, Oct 7 (KUNA) -- At least 15 Indian passengers were killed and many others were trapped on Tuesday when a massive landslide struck their bus in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh.
According to the Press Trust of India, officials reported that a private bus carrying between 30 and 35 passengers was hit by the landslide in the Bhalughat area of Jhandutta, resulting in the deaths of 15 passengers and trapping several others beneath the debris.
The bus was travelling from Marotan to Ghumarwin at the time of the incident.
So far, 15 bodies have been recovered from the rubble, and authorities fear that the death toll may rise, as a police official noted that the entire mountainside collapsed onto the bus, leaving little hope for the survival of those trapped, said the Press. (end) atk.ara
