KHARTOUM, Oct 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Namaa Charity Society has carried out a series of relief and development projects in various regions of Chad, benefiting thousands of people.
Head of the Relief and Development Sector at Namaa, Khaled Al-Shammari, told KUNA on Sunday that the society distributed 700 food baskets sufficient to support needy families for one month, as part of urgent interventions to address food insecurity.
He added that 225 eye surgeries were performed, including cataract removals and lens implants, restoring vision for hundreds of beneficiaries.
Al-Shammari noted that the projects also included laying the foundation stone for three community centers, an orphanage, and a middle school for 300 students.
In addition, five artesian wells were inaugurated to serve around 2,500 people, along with a fully integrated village comprising 50 homes and essential services to support stability, education, and access to clean water.
Al-Shammari also praised the continued support of Kuwait's leadership and donors in achieving tangible humanitarian impact. (end) mam.dm
