ABU DHABI, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed bilateral relations and several regional and international issues over the phone on Wednesday.
During the phone conversation, they reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East, and reaffirmed their support for all efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the sustained and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to its population, the UAE's official news agency (WAM) reported.
The UAE president voiced his appreciation to the United Kingdom for its recent recognition of the State of Palestine, underscoring that the bi-state solution is still the most viable path to achieving lasting stability in the region for the benefit of its countries and peoples.
Both leaders also tackled ways of promoting UAE-UK relations covering various fields in a way that serves both countries' mutual interests and backs their shared development goals. (end) skm.mt
