CAIRO, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is keen on safeguarding and enriching Arab cultural inheritance for the sake of future generations, said head of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Cairo Dr. Khaled Al-Mhareb, on Wednesday.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the Arab League's first annual gathering for Arab Cultural Attaches, Al-Mhareb affirmed that Kuwait played an integral cultural role in the Arab region via supporting cultural work in various fields.
Kuwait's pioneering soft power role and publications output have left an imprint in the Arab cultural scene and created a unique identity for the country, he asserted.
He noted that Kuwait University also plays an important part in spreading Arab culture as one of the premier universities in the Arab World, adding that its annual publications and hosting of outstanding educational staff made it a force to be reckoned with on the higher education level.
He also alluded to Kuwait being chosen as the capital of Arab Media and Culture for 2025, saying that the recognition reflected its status within the region. (end)
