CAIRO, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty confirmed on Wednesday that his country has trained members of the Palestinian Security force to enable them to establish security control over the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Ministry stated that this came in during a speech by Abdelatty at the Munich leader's meeting in the Saudi city of Al-Ula.
He also stated that the Arab summit held in Cairo last March adopted a non-factional Palestinian administrative committee capable of temporarily managing the Strip until the Palestinian Authority returns.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of the Israeli occupation forces' withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, entry of humanitarian aid, preventing the annexation of the West Bank and any displacement of Palestinians from their land, as well as for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities.
In a similar context, he stressed the importance of stopping Israeli attacks on Lebanon and respecting its sovereignty, emphasizing the need of withdrawing from the five occupied Lebanese points in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and implementation of Resolution 1701. (end)
