KUWAIT, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya on Tuesday affirmed that the 126-year-old deep-rooted relationship between the State of Kuwait and the United Kingdom is constantly a focus of interest for the two states' stakeholders in various spheres.
These close ties constitute an example for solid friendship and constructive cooperation in diverse fields, said the minister in a statement to KUNA following the visit by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to the UK.
The visit embodied the bonds of partnership and friendship bonding the two countries, he said, noting that His Highness the Crown Prince met with His Royal Highness Prince William, the Prince of Wales, at Windsor Castle, where he conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to King Charles III and Prince William, wishing the UK and its friendly people continued progress and prosperity.
He added that His Highness the Crown Prince also met, during the visit, Kuwaiti students studying at British universities, commending their achievements, excellent academic performance and affirming the aspiration for their future contribution to developing their dear homeland.
Moreover, His Highness the Crown Prince visited Kuwait Investment Office in London where he was briefed on its tasks, strategic plans and the vital role in managing and developing the Kuwaiti investments since its founding in 1953.
The minister, furthermore, lauded the office's role in boosting Kuwait's economic status and diversifying national income sources to ensure a promising future for the coming generations. (end)
