BERLIN, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- Germany on Monday reiterated its refusal to recognize a Palestinian state, diverging from European allies including France and the UK.
Deputy Government Spokesman Sebastian Hille said Berlin's assessment differs, noting a contrast with allies, especially France, which plans to recognize a Palestinian state tomorrow, and the UK, which recognized it yesterday.
Germany's position is known and unchanged, viewing recognition as one of the concluding steps toward a two-state solution, he mentioned.
Germany regularly supports a two-state solution and said recognition should come after Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. (end) anj.lr
