KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- Indonesia's twin volcano of Lewotobi southeastern part of the island of Flores and another one in Java re-erupted on Sunday, prompting evacuations and flight cancellations.
Columns of lava and ash continue to spew from the two peaks of of the volcano - Lewotobi Laki Laki and Lewotobi Perempuan, according to a statement from Indonesia's geological agency. Meanwhile, Mount Merapi, Indonesia's most active volcano located near the city of Yogyakarta in Java, erupted anew, sending lava and ash as high as 2,284 meters, the statement added. (end) aab.gb
