KUWAIT, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Activists of various ages have rolled up their sleeves to collect waste littered across the Kuwaiti Anjafa beach, marking the World Cleanup Day.
The group, including volunteers, civil servants and personnel from public and private institutions, assembled early today at the beach, collecting the waste in an activity sponsored and attended by Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governor and Hawally Acting Governor Sheikh Badr Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
The task, carried out in coordination with "KAFO" association, aimed at promoting the culture of volunteering and preserving beaches' cleanliness.
Sheikh Badr called on all segments of the society to give a hand in the collective activities to safeguard the country's environment. (end) ahk.rk
