DOHA, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- The leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq called on Monday for a unified Arab-Islamic action to hold the Israeli aggressor accountable for the recent heinous attack on Doha.
This came in their speeches delivered at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, being held in Doha.
Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi affirmed that the heinous Israeli occupation attack on Qatari territory constitutes a grave violation of international law and sets a dangerous precedent.
"This aggression clearly reflects that Israeli practices have transcended any political or military logic and crossed all red lines," said the Egyptian president.
President Al-Sisi also condemned in the strongest and harshest terms the Israeli aggression against the sovereignty and security of an Arab state, which plays a pivotal role in mediation efforts with Egypt and the United States to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and end the war and the unprecedented suffering experienced by the brotherly Palestinian people.
He also warned against any uncontrolled Israeli behavior, which is destabilizing the region, is likely to expand the scope of the conflict, and push the region toward a dangerous spiral of escalation, which cannot be accepted or tolerated.
In turn, the Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed that the Israeli occupation has persisted in its illegal measures in the West Bank, obstructing the two-state solution and undermining the chances of achieving a just peace. It continues to threaten the security and stability of Lebanon and Syria and is now attacking Qatar's sovereignty and security.
"The Israeli occupation government persists in its hegemony because the international community has allowed it to be above the law," King Abdullah added.
King Abdullah also stressed that the Arab and Islamic world must review all tools of joint action to confront the threat of this extremist Israeli government.
Furthermore, he stressed that today's summit must produce practical decisions to confront this danger, halt the war in Gaza, prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people, protect Jerusalem and its holy sites, and safeguard collective security, the interests of Arab and Islamic states, and their future.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani reiterated his country's unequivocal condemnation of the attacks targeting the region's security and stability, and its full solidarity with the State of Qatar, the Palestinian people, and all peoples subjected to aggression, whether in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, or Iran.
Al-Sudani stressed that the attack on Qatar represents a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law, adding that it threatens efforts to defuse the crisis in the region, given Qatar's diplomatic mediation efforts.
He also called for a unified Arab-Islamic position condemning the attack on Doha and for international steps to hold the aggressor accountable for its aggression and hold it to international accountability.
The Iraqi prime minister urged the formation of a broad Islamic alliance comprising Arab and Islamic countries to address the security and economic challenges facing their peoples.
He also called for the formation of an Arab-Islamic contact group that would address the Security Council, the United Nations, and the European Union to convey the positions of Arab and Islamic countries and defend the rights of their peoples.
Al-Sudani warned that the entire international system could suffer a dangerous setback if the criminal aggression continues without accountability. (end)
