KUWAIT, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced Wednesday that the General Directorate of Coast Guard has dispatched three female officers to join the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, United Kingdom, as part of ongoing efforts to empower women and strengthen operational efficiency.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed its continued efforts to develop and qualify its personnel in line with international standards, enhancing capabilities across security and military sectors.
The Ministry noted that the move; the Directorate's first of a kind, reflects Kuwait's commitment to supporting women's participation in the security field and enhancing the coast guard's capacity to safeguard maritime borders.
British Defence Attache to Kuwait, Navy Colonel Neil Marriott, paid an official visit to the coast guard headquarters, where he met with Director General Commodore Sheikh Mubarak Al-Youssef Al-Sabah and the newly deployed officers.
He praised the initiative as a testament to the deep-rooted ties and strategic partnership between Kuwait and the United Kingdom. (end) hmd.aai
