ISLAMABAD, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- At least two Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel and six militants were killed and 18 others injured in a militant attack in Pakistanآ’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, said police on Monday.
Kohat Regional Police Officer Abbas Majeed in a statement to media confirmed that two FC personnel were killed and 18 others injured in a militant attack targeting an FC fort in the Torah Wadi area of Doaba in Hangu district of KPK.
The officer said that the FC soldiers retaliated to the attack, resulting in the death of six militants, adding that the militants managed to escape with the bodies of their accomplices.
He added that the victims and injured were shifted to the nearest military hospital.
The attack comes at a time when Pakistan is witnessing a rise in terror attacks especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end)
