CAIRO, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- Egypt warned Thursday of the repercussions of expanding Israeli occupation in Gaza Strip, expressing deep concern over the occupation's ongoing plans to seize control of Palestinian lands.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry explained, in a press statement, that the escalation is a new attempt to reinforce the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and violates international and humanitarian laws.
Egypt strongly condemned Israeli occupation plans to seize control of Palestinian lands in the West Bank and Gaza, denouncing systematic crimes against civilians and ongoing efforts to displace Palestinians from their land.
It also warned that the occupation's actions worsen tensions and show disregard for mediation efforts, including ceasefire proposals, hostage and prisoner releases, and humanitarian aid delivery.
Egypt called on the international community to intervene urgently to put an end to the Israeli war on Gaza Strip and to halt the crimes committed against Palestinian civilians. (end) aff.ao
