KUWAIT, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- The Cabinet was briefed on Tuesday through a visual presentation by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi and some senior officials on a plan to transform Ahmadi health area into an integrated medical city.
The announcement was made during the Cabinet weekly meeting held in Bayan Palace, under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Abdullah Al-Mousherji said in a statement after the meeting.
This is part of the ministry's plan on healthcare, which also includes the expansion of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, and finding suggested solutions to address administrative and technical challenges, Al-Mousherji.
The ministers further were apprised of a visual presentation by Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar on Kuwait's international indicator of communication and information technology.
The minister informed the Cabinet that Kuwait came first globally in information development index for 2024 for the second year in a row, according to the statement.
This shows Kuwait's advanced digital infrastructure and its leading role in keeping pace with digital developments, it noted.
In addition, the ministers were informed about the letters sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from some heads of sisterly and friendly countries on means of boosting relations with Kuwait in all domain.
They were briefed on the decree No. 149 of 2025 regarding the acceptance of Minister of Finance, and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Nora Al-Fassam's resignation on Monday, and the decree No 150 on appointing Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Resources Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeen for Al-Fassam's post.
The Cabinet expressed thanks to Al-Fassam for her sincere efforts made since she came to office. (end) hm
