BRUSSELS, 28 July (KUNA) -- EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, describing it as a "major breakthrough" after days of deadly clashes between the two countries.
In a post on X, Kallas said the agreement represents "a significant step towards deescalation and restoring stability in the region," stressing the importance of both sides implementing it "in good faith".
She also expressed her thanks to Malaysia, in its capacity as the current chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), for its role in facilitating the negotiations. (end) arn.mt
