BERLIN, July 28 (KUNA) -- German police confirmed Monday that a landslide caused by heavy rain led to a train accident that killed at least three people.
In a statement, police said the train derailed near the town of Riedlingen in the southwestern state of Baden-Wurttemberg after heaving rain caused a slope collapse onto the railway.
According to the statement, the victims were the train driver, a Deutsche Bahn employee, and a passenger.
The crash also injured 41 of the roughly 100 passengers on board. (end) anj.lr
