TEHRAN, July 25 (KUNA) -- Iran on Friday announced the successful launch of its domestically made research and communications satellite Nahid-2 into space aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket.
According to Iranian state television, the Nahid-2 satellite was launched from Russia's Vostochny Cosmodrome using the Soyuz satellite carrier rocket.
The Iranian-made satellite, weighing 110 kilograms, was developed by local experts to enhance the country's capabilities in communications satellite systems.
In late February 2024, Iran also successfully placed its research and remote sensing satellite Pars-1 into orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers, also from the Vostochny launch base. (end)
