MOSCOW, July 24 (KUNA) -- All the 48 people aboard an Angara Airlines flight were killed after the plane crashed in dense woods in Russia's far-eastern region of Amur on Thursday.
The victims include five children, local officials said.
The doomed Soviet-era An-24 aircraft vanished from radar at 1:00 p.m., local time, while flying from Blagoveshchensk region, to Tynda town in Amur region, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Its wreckage was found later later on in woods nearly nine miles (16 km.) from its intended destination in Tynda, Amur Governor Vasily Orlov wrote on his Telegram account. Confirming that rescuers found no survivors at the crash site, Orlov declared a three-day mourning. (end) mmj.gb
