KUWAIT, July 15 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Tuesday was apprised of the gist of official talks held between His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and French President Emmanuel Macron during the Amir's visit to Paris on July 13-14.
This was announced during the Cabinet's meeting held at Bayan Palace, under the leadership of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Al-Mousherji said in a statement after the meeting.
The talks between the two leaders discussed deep-rooted historic relations between the two countries and their peoples, and means of backing and developing them in all fields in a way that contributes to achieving mutual benefits and interest, Al-Mousherji added.
They also covered consultation and coordination on the key issues of mutual interest, along the latest developments on regional and international arenas.
The ministers also were informed about the signing of the declaration of content between Kuwait and France, in the presence of His Highness the Amir and President Macron.
The declaration aims to boost collaboration in culture and mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026.
In addition, the Cabinet was briefed on the results of His Highness the Amir's meeting with French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad Laurent Saint-Martin on the importance of backing investment opportunities in some vital sectors, along other results of the meetings the Amir held with French officials.
The ministers were informed about the letters sent to His Highness the Amir from the heads of sisterly and friendly countries on enhancing bilateral relations and activating cooperation between Kuwait and these states.
Afterwards, the Cabinet saw a visual presentation submitted by President of Government Performance Follow-Up Agency Sheikh Ahmad Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and some officials on the 2024 annual report that contains some points, including following up ministerial decisions, government projects and the commitment of government bodies to the Cabinet's resolution No. 713 of 2024.
The ministers saw a visual presentation made by Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajail on launching the second part of the third phase of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) system development project.
This is one of the CMA most outstanding strategic projects as part of the country's development plan.
Al-Ajail stressed CMA commitment to applying the Law No. 7 of 2010 and proceeding with progress and development in a way that contributes to boosting Kuwait's economic and financial position.
Furthermore, the ministers saw a visual presentation by Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi on Kuwait's cultural path project.
The scheme aims to offer a rich tourist and cultural experiment to show Kuwait's identify and enhance national awareness as well as eternalize historic memory of the upcoming generations, Al-Mutairi noted.
The project is paramount as it embodies the development plan axes and Kuwait Vision 2035, and creates an alluring tourist and cultural destination, he pointed out.
The Cabinet decided to refer this project to the ministerial committee for study, and discussed some topics listed on the agenda and then approved them. (end)
