KUWAIT, July 15 (KUNA) -- A preparatory committee comprising the assistants of army chiefs within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) convened for talks on Tuesday, a day before a higher-level gathering involving the militaries of the six-member bloc.
The talks, presided over by the Kuwaiti military's acting assistant chief of staff for operations and planning Brigadier General Raed Al-Sakran, looked into decisions and suggestions relevant to "joint GCC military work," according to a Kuwaiti army statement.
The gathering aims to beef up cooperation on military training and operational skills within the Riyadh-based bloc, the statement underlined. (end) hmd.nam
